An employee at McDonalds is being praised after helping out a stressed mother of three by paying for the family’s order when mom forgot her purse.
Brittney Reed was leaving football practice with her three children when her 4-year-old suddenly began to cry. Her 7-year-old also began to cry after hearing mom explain what was for dinner as she clearly wasn’t fond of what they were gonna have. That’s when Reed made the decision to head towards McDonald’s drive-thru. After placing her order and driving up to the window, Reed realized she left her purse at the house prior to heading to practice.
Reed, stressed out and upset, looked at the 16-year-old and tried to explain. “I look at the young man with tears in my eyes just from being stressed and annoyed and say ‘hun I am so sorry but I have to cancel that order I left my purse at home when we went to football tonight,’“ Reed later posted to Facebook.
She said he took out his wallet and swiped his card without hesitation before she could do anything. “I was like wait no hun it’s ok I will come back through then he replies “no it’s totally fine, my pleasure’,” she wrote.
Reed still ended up heading back to Mickey D’s to hand him cash anyway. But it was in this moment, Reed learned that the employee, Wyatt, had actually been saving for a car. That’s when Reed and her husband felt compelled to now return the favor. They set up a GoFundMe account with the goal of $30k to help Wyatt out. Since it was posted, the account has reached over $48k.
She wrote on Facebook, “I just want his parents to know how KIND & COMPASSIONATE your son was tonight! He made this stressed out momma pause for a moment and realize this is exactly what we parents are trying to do, raise great humans. Well Wyatt sir, you are an amazing human!!!”
“Wyatt, do not let this world change your kind heart young man for its people like YOU that will change this world for the better!,” she added.
