Zoom announced last week that it will remove the 40 minute limit on video chats on its platform for the entire day of Thanksgiving.
Zoom tweeted, “As a thank you to our customers, we will be lifting the 40-minute limit for all meetings globally from midnight ET on Nov. 26 through 6 a.m. ET on Nov. 27 so your family gatherings don’t get cut short.”
Normally, paid yearly packages for Zoom cost between $150-$200. If a host opts to stick with the free option, then a meeting runs for a maximum of 40 minutes. From there, a new free video call needs to be started when participants want to chat for longer.
Zoom isn’t just lifting the free time limit in one country, the initiative is global, so whether you have family or good friends in Paris or Mumbai, you can talk to them this Thursday for free!
